About the Workshop

This full-day Laser Vibrometry Workshop is a Measuring By Light supported event, jointly organised with the University of Twente.

The workshop brings together academic researchers and industrial practitioners to explore damping phenomena across different scales, using Laser Doppler Vibrometry (LDV) as a key experimental tool.

The focus of the day lies on how laser vibrometry enables the experimental characterization of damping, resonance and wave phenomena, ranging from macro-scale mechanical structures to micro- and nano-scale systems.

Through a combination of invited scientific talks, theory-oriented insights, and hands-on laboratory demonstrations, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how single-point and scanning LDV techniques are applied in cutting-edge research and advanced engineering applications.

The workshop aims to bridge macro, micro and nano applications of LDV, highlighting the continuity between structural dynamics, metamaterials, and nanomechanical systems.
