Adil Han Orta is a postdoctoral researcher in Mechanics of Materials and Structures Group at Universiteit Gent. Prior to arriving at Universiteit Gent, he earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University. He was also part of the modelling and simulation group of Borusan R&D as a researcher during his master. He was responsible for Industry 4.0 transformation of manufacturing lines and developed analytical and machine learning models. Then, he earned his Doctoral degree in Physics from KU Leuven. During his doctoral research, he developed a novel material characterization method to identify the viscoelastic and orthotropic stiffness parameters of plates by using full-field guided waves. Adil is interested in metamaterials, characterization of material properties, structural health monitoring and guided wave propagation in composite materials.
The unique multidisciplinary conference where industry and academics come together to discuss applications and solutions of optical measurement techniques.
